One stone from Atlantean Crystal Pit
There was a maximum of four crystal pits, or power plants, on Atlantis at any one time. Arae had made the first one, and it was the largest and by far most powerful. he later constructed a form of a bridge over it with one huge specially designed crystal directly over the other large crystal that covered the hole reaching down into the Earth 's magma.
This is how they worked. The large crystal covering the hole in the ground focused thermal nuclear energy from inside the Planet. It then spread it into the cluster of individual crystals around it, wich formed the basic shape of a cone. The cone's point was the lowest part of the form. This is why I call it a pit.
While the primary crystal, the one covering the hole, was radiationg with energy from inside the Earth, it was also focusing our our Sun's energy. The energy was also spread out into the crystal cone formation. This solar power gave additional to the system, but when the Sun was covered by clouds, the device still functioned well, just not as strong.
